  1. maneaters and friends

Haven't had a whole bunch of time to work on that. I'm hoping to work them over soon.
  2. maneaters and friends

I've been busy(man I say that a lot) but all the man eaters are put together, only one is painted though. The last one finished is the bretonnia ogre. Looks like my witcher snuck into this photo
  3. 1000 point tourney

My local store is doing a 100 point tourney. I've played a good couple of friendly games. I was wondering if there were any good tricks or lists. I have the following 1 tyrant 1 butcher 1 firebelly 13 bulls 7 iron guts 30 gnoblars 9maneaters 4 mournfangs 5 saber tusks 1 iron blaster 1 scrap launcher 1 giant 1 thunder tusk 1 thuder tusk/stonehorn

I have been crazy busy lately. I painted some black templars for armies on parade though. I would have loved to enter the golden fist painting competition here but I don't think I'll have the time to get something done.
  5. Skull Biters

From the journal of Herr Otto in a chapter titled "know thy enemy" Rok'gar the brain gobbler gained his title for his belief that the power of the maw allowed him to gain knowledge from the brains of his opponents. Many ogres did not believe in his claim but none could deny he was the biggest, meanest son of a gun around. Rok'gars current campaign of conquest started during a conflict with a band of the slaves to the dark powers. A powerful Mage had been giving Rok'gars forces a run for their money. Fed up with the Mage turning his ogres into ash he lead a charge straight through the bulk of the war bands forces, hacking and slashing as he went. Rok'gar finally made his way through the mass of bodies, the Mage summoned all the magical energy he could manage to blast the tyrant with, eyes glowing with barley restrained power the Mage chanted his spell. The last words the Mage heard before his death was Rok'gar chuckling "heads up" before chomping off the top of his head, leaving the lower half of a jaw and a flapping tongue. The mages tortured body exploded from the pent up energy blasting all around his corpse in a golden flash. When the smoke settled Rok'gar was found sitting in a crater surrounded by gore with a flicker in his eye and one word on his lips "Ghyran". At least that's how the locals tell the tale, Rok'gar has been gaining numbers he has to be stopped before things get out of hand. the fluff is from a AoS campaign I never got to finish but I thought it worked here. A fun thing about it though is we got custom command traits, mine was Ability: Braingobble – Rok’gar has an appetite for brainfood, and he’s all out of Bran Flakes! When Rok’gar kills a HERO or MONSTER, he takes a healthy bite out of their cranium, healing a wound previously lost. 1 tyrant 1 butcher 1 fire belly 7 iron guts 13 bulls 37 gnoblars 10 maneaters 1 thunder tusk 1 stone horn 4 mournfang 5 wolves(saber cats) 1 iron blaster 1 scrap launcher 1 giant i don't have the handbook handy but I remember it all being around four thousand points.

  7. maneaters and friends

@TeddyMadeMeDoIt I know right? They are such great characters. Giantslayer is next on my reading list. As soon as I saw the iron breakers released I knew I'd buy them at some point.
  8. maneaters and friends

@Lord Hogwash sounds like a good mix. I chose the gold because the lore behind my skaven is that the are showing humans how real nobility should look/act. Thank you I appreciate that.
  9. maneaters and friends

No painting update but, I bought some stuff. The betrayal at calth box, start collecting orcs, and another Templars upgrade box. I was thinking about doing founding Templars mixing the calth the Templars boxes. Not sure how I'm going to paint the orruks, might do it to match my ogres or my 40k orks. Not sure
  10. maneaters and friends

Added a skin wash to Felix and gotrek. Finished the karag dum dwarves.
  11. maneaters and friends

@Tyberous Khan I've only gotten through vampire slayer myself. I was thinking a light flesh wash and a very light blue wash on gotreks axe.
  12. maneaters and friends

More friends today. I will eventually paint those maneaters, but today I have gotrek and Felix. I think they don't look half bad now but I might hit the skin with a wash. Also based some more iron breakers.
  13. Gotrek and Felix in AoS

@Gareth Looks good to me. Those two plus some iron breakers will be tearing up the next dungeon we run.
  14. Gotrek and Felix in AoS

To try and keep hype up for age of sigmar after the season of war, one of the guys at my local shop has decided to run an event every two weeks or so. Nothing too big mostly dungeon crawl type of events and I thought this would be a great chance to use my gotrek and Felix minis. Using them in tandem with some karag dum style dwarves, but I don't know if they have rules or if I have to get inventive.
  15. Ironguts or maneaters?

Honestly I run my stone horn and minimum sized maneaters in a pair. I use the strider on them letting them run and charge so my stone horn doesn't get swamped. Bonus round that's enough of a distraction the rest of my forces are fairly unharassed.
